First day of school

Tomorrow I start orientation for my MPH in Global Health year! While I am generally not a big fan of orientations (especially week-long ones), I am definitely ready to do something other than obsessively clean/organize the apartment. Today I alphabetized Kevin's two 8 foot bookshelves. After this week, September is dedicated to Epidemiology and Biostatistics, both of which should be incredibly useful. Although it will necessitate a return to doing "homework" which should be interesting...

I am equally excited for College Football this weekend. This Saturday is Notre Dame vs. Temple, i.e. my alma mater vs. Kevin's! Exciting, but as Kevin's dad commented, "what are you guys going to do for the second half?" Should be a good afternoon for me!

Kevin and I both have a completely free three day weekend coming up - I am relatively certain this has not happened since last December. I just started teaching for The Princeton Review in addition to babysitting, so weekends have been busy lately...I am planning on some quality pool time as well as tackling some apartment projects. And wedding things. Latest update on that front: I have secured a photo booth! Next on the list are small details like tables and chairs haha.

Thunder

Now that third year is over and I *might* have some extra time, I am attempting to start blogging again (there was a major failed attempt around this time last year). Right now, I think I have completed all of the important tasks on my to do list for the first time in awhile, and Kevin is off becoming famous as an extra on today's shoot of the show "Nashville", leaving me to contemplate the unpredictability of these near-daily 10 minute summer thunderstorms with Rocky, who is sleeping on the windowsill.

I suppose there are plenty of other things I could do to be productive (like vacuuming or cleaning the toilets) but for now I will make the list of things Kevin and I keep saying we want to do but still have not done...
1. Paint an accent wall in the living room
2. Configure Kevin's guitar hooks and hang guitars
3. Plant herbs to grow in kitchen window
4. Organize closet in guest bedroom
5. Clean the fridge properly
6. Finish planning our wedding
7. Sell surplus material goods online

We have been sucked into a West Wing vortex almost every evening since getting rid of cable last month and instead using Netflix - surprisingly, he had never watched the show (less surprisingly, I had not either). And in order to get our money's worth for our overpriced apartment, we try to go to the pool whenever we are not working on the weekends! Maybe the list should be shelved until the fall?
